Team Registration Form

Part 4

***IMPORTANT*** - Every club team coach, volunteer, adults and player is signing up to the following EDSSA Code of Conduct which will also be published on the association website

All team coaches and volunteers must:-

  1. conduct themselves in an appropriate manner befitting their position of adult leaders in charge of children’s sporting activities - they must act as role models for the children
  2. ensure that unsporting behaviour on the field of play is acknowledged through substitution of the player which should diffuse any potential confrontation – players found to be swearing at another player, referee or adult should be removed from the field of play and should take no further part in the game
  3. control adults/supporters and ensure that only encouragement is given to players of both sides for good play – unacceptable adult/supporter behaviour cannot be allowed to be ignored
  4. ensure that only registered team coaches (must be wearing yellow EDSSA jackets) coach the team from the sidelines and request other adults to refrain from coaching or shouting instructions at the children
  5. know the rules in relation to their age group before taking charge of games and referee in a fair manner – a whistle is also a basic requirement
  6. ensure that only coaches take up position on inside lines where pitches are back to back – please stand inside your pitch for health and safety reasons and be aware of children playing on the pitch behind you
  7. report incidents where a game has been abandoned due to a breach of 1, 2 or 3 above or for anything else of a serious nature that was not resolved on the day, to the EDSSA Secretary within 3 days of the game (Coach only)
  8. wear high visibility yellow jacket issued by EDSSA at all times during fixtures allocated by EDSSA
  9. mark up Monitoring Form for opponents behaviour after each game and submit this form to the EDSSA Committee (Andy Bonar) when advised to do so or immediately after the game if scored less than 3 (one coach only)
  10. ensure the children enjoy THEIR football as much as possible regardless of results
