West Keal and Keal Cotes Parish Council Newsletter Summer EDITION2017

CHAIRMAN’S COMMENTS

Firstly, for all Parishioners ‘new and old’ I would like to offer you a warm and sincere welcome to ourbeautifulParish.

As a Parish Council, we have limited sums and limited resources but we are committed to ensure that your Parish is maintained to the highest possible standard that we can achieve.

We thereforehope tokeep you up to date with your Parish Council’s activities and value any input from Parish members. If anyone hasany ideas, comments or suggestions, we would love to hear them. Please visit our website at email us at: where you will be able to leave your comments, notes and/or suggestions.

Finally, we will post the dates and times of all Parish meetings (which are normally held at the Cracroft Village Hall) on our website and you are warmly invited to attend any or all of these.

DEFIBRILLATOR

We are indebted to the Cracroft Village Hall who have managed to raise sufficient funds to purchase a defibrillator, which will be available 24 hours a day on the outer wall of the Village Hall. We are also attempting to arrange a training session for any residents who would like to know how to use it and we would ask any members of the public who would like to be informed of the dates/timings to contact us at or alternatively, check out our website where we will post dates and timings for this and all other forthcoming events.

SPEED REDUCTION

After a two year struggle, we have finally achieved the reduction of the speed limit in West Keal from the previous 40mph speed limit to 30mph. In addition to this, we are endeavouring to gain sufficient funding in order to purchase some S.I.D.s (reactive speed signs) for use in both the Keal Cotes and West Keal villages as an additional speed deterrent.

VILLAGE HALL – QUIZ NIGHT

“Mastermind” it is definitely not …
So why not come along to our next Quiz Night at The Cracroft Village Hall?
The next one’s on WednesdayAugust 09th from 7 pm to about 10-ish and it costs just £6 per table of up to 4 persons with an interval for free tea/coffee and biscuits.
We don’t take it too seriously at all and it’s a fun way to spend an evening and help encourage more life into our community.

AND FINALLY…

Lincolnshire Police are asking all residents to be extra vigilant. There has been the usual increase for this time of year in outbuilding and shed burglaries with criminals targeting tools and mowers. Also there have been a few flyers pushed through the letterboxes in the village offering gardening work; please do not deal with cold callers on the doorstep as this is often a tactic of rogue traders and criminal scammers. Please do keep a watchful eye over any vulnerable neighbours, too.
