Improving Instructional Strategies and Teacher Leadership
  • Full implementation of itslearning and Learning Station for lesson planning, enrichment, remediation, data analysis, etc.
  • Teacher- driven and teacher-led professional learning sessions at the departmental level
  • Focus on differentiation in the classroom, formative assessments, technology, and meaningful feedback
  • Collaborative Planning and Data Team continuous meetings to evaluate both short term and long term classroom goals
  • Three school-wide focus groups including a variety of teachers: School Improvement Focus Group, Professional Learning Focus Group, Climate and Culture Focus Group

Connection to Continuous Improvement Goal(s):
  • Professional Learning Needs Assessment indicated teachers prefer specialized teacher-driven, teacher-led professional development. This, along with the creation of the three focus groups, increases teacher leadership opportunities, works to improve culture and morale, and assists in promoting the School Improvement Plan’s goal of improved professional culture and gains in CCRPI, tests scores, etc. based on teaching strategies, etc.
  • Collaborative Data Teams focus on short term and long term classroom goals which will increase use of formative assessments, lesson modifications, mastery of learning, etc. These teams and the strategies used to impact instruction will lead to an increase in both student achievement and CCRPI scores.
