WEST END RULES FOR 2012
ENGINE RULES:
120 HONDA
ALL CLASSES - USAC Rules
1 - 20 degrees of timing. (Qma requires correct flyweel), For the last 2 years, Both West End & Blue Mtn., did not care how you got to 20 degrees. USAC is same effective 2012.
2 - No Main Jet tech. (Unaltered Stock jets required in Qma), USAC is open. (drilling of jet is allowed for 2012)
3 - 140 Valve Springs Allowed. (Illegal in Qma) Allowed in USAC. Actually doesn't help Jr. & Sr. Honda cars.
4 - Head & Cylinder Deck machining Allowed - (Illegal in Qma), Legal in USAC. This option only comes into play if engine heads & cylinders are way out of minmum tolerances.
5 - Thialand Engine & Heads Allowed. (Must have Japan Head for Qma). 2 Illegal heads listed in USAC - # TKI-4, # ATA-1, & a possible (3rd head - # TKI-5 - to be determined). Honda UT2 engines beginning w/ GCBMT or GCBPT are NOT Permitted in Usac @ time of publishing.
6 - HEAVY HONDA ONLY - Stock 160 Carb Allowed. No Main Jet Tech (Illegal in Qma @ time of publishing). Legal for USAC.
7 - Refer to USAC Honda 120 Tech Manual & your Engine Builder for additonal rules & guidelines.
Class Weights - USAC - All weight are less x 10# max. in SR. Novice & 5# in Sr. & Equal To for Jr. Novice & Hvy Honda Qma.
160 HONDA
BOTH CLASSES - USAC Rules
1 - Head & Cylinder Deck machining Allowed. (Illegal in Qma), Legal in USAC. This option only comes into play if engine heads & cylinders are way out of tolerances.
2 - Honda UT2 Engines, beginning wi/ GCBMT or GCBPT are NOT permitted in USAC @ time of publishing.
3 - HEAVY 160 - Stock 200 Carb is Allowed. No Main Jet Tech. (Illegal in Qma @ time of publishing). Legal for USAC.
4 - Refer to USAC Honda 160 Tech Manual & you Engine Builder for additional rules & guidelines.
Class Weights are equal/same w/ both Organizations.
ANIMAL CLASSES - USAC rules
1 - Jr. Animal requires USAC BLACK Intake Restrictor Plate
2 - Sr. Animal requires USAC GOLD Intake Restrictor Plate
3 - Refer to USAC B & S Animal Tech Manual & your Engine Builder For additonal rules & guidelines.
4 - USAC Animal Engines are Qma compliant, except for restriction.
5 - Head & Cylinder Deck machining is Allowed. (Illegal in Qma). Machining only helps if your motor is to max. of specs.
Class Weights - Jr. Animal is same w/ both. Sr. Animal is 295/USAC & (275/Qma)

WORLD FORMULA CLASSES - USAC Rules
1 - Qma Legal Built engines are very much competitive in these classes.
2 - Head & Cylinder Deck machining is Allowed. (Illegal in Qma). Machining only helps if your motor is to max. of specs.
Class Weights - Light - USAC - 270, Qma - 295, We all know 300 is a good weight to start, especially on dirt, to hook tires to surface. Heavy - 340 - same for both Organizations.

Jr. Novice - 250 (Red Plate) [same as Qma]
Sr. Novice - 250 (Blue Plate) [-10 than Qma]
Jr. Honda - 250 (Blue Plate) [same as Qma]
Sr. Honda - 270 (No Plate) [-5 than Qma]
Heavy Honda - 325 [same as Qma]
Jr. Animal - 250 (Black Intake Restrictor) [same as Qma]
Sr. Animal - 295 (Gold Intake Restrictor) [+20 than Qma]
Light 160 - 270 (Same as Qma)
Heavy 160 - 325 (Same as Qma)
Light World Formula - 270 [-25 than Qma]
World Formula - 340 (Same as Qma)
2012 TREAD WIDTH SPEC.
All Classes will now become 36" Tread Centers instead of 34" (34" for Qma), Lehigh Valley & USAC has always been 36" centers.
2012 TIRE TREATMENT RULES
All Classes - NO TIRE TREATMENTS (SOFTENING) ALLOWED.
