WES Fellowship Application

The Grade of WES Fellow (FWES) was established to reward women who have made an outstanding contribution to the field of engineering or a related discipline, to the sustained encouragement of women in STEM, or in service to the Women's Engineering Society. Fellowship is granted by the WES Fellowship committee.

The annual cost of Fellowship is £85 per annum, with a concessionary rate of £42 for retired or unemployed members. A membership upgrade fee of £40 for current members who are upgrading to Fellowship will apply.Payment will be requested on confirmation of Fellowship. WES Fellows will typically be women who are eligible for Fellowship of another Professional Engineering Institution, but this is not the only route to Fellowship.

5.CV and Supporting Documentation

All application forms should be accompanied by an up-to-date CV and a summary outlining what you consider to be the key personal contributions and impacts you have made to one or more of the following fields:

  • An outstanding contribution to Engineering or a related discipline
  • The advancement of women in STEM
  • In service to the Women’s Engineering Society

Neither the CV nor the statement should normally exceed two sides of A4.

Please bear in mind that the Fellowship Committee will not necessary know of your previous work or activities.

Please note that you may be asked for verification of your qualifications, academic achievements or Professional Institution membership details.

7. Biography

If you are accepted as a Fellow of WES we would like to upload your name, photograph and biography onto the WES website Please be prepared to supply this when necessary, and if you have an appropriate biography that you would like to supply at this stage, please do so. This should be written in the third person and be in the region of 500 words. Head and shoulders photographs should be supplied as a jpeg or gif.
