Mayor Mike Crawford called the meeting to order at 6:30pm.

6.FINAL PUBLIC HEARINGON ANNEXATION PETITION FILED BY CITY OF WENDOVER FOR 10.01877 ACRES WHICH IS THE CITY’S CEMETERY.

7.APPROVE OR AMEND THE REGULARCITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OF DECEMBER 17, 2015.

Councilmember Gordon Stewart made the motion to approve the regular city council meeting minutes of December 17, 2015, seconded by Councilmember Dennis Sweat. All in favor. Motion passes.

B)FIRE DEPARTMENT

Discussion was held about the fire department’s Face Book page. There had been complaints from residents about what was being posted and due to the City never approving the Face Book page, the council asked Fire Chief Mike Young to take all pictures and information pertaining to accidents off the site. Mr. Young also updated the council on the ladder truck project being dead in the water. He also handed out a report to the council on the calls the department has been on for the month of November.

C)UTILITY DEPARTMENT

City Administrator Glenn Wadsworth spoke about someone dumping raw sewage in the man holes and ruining the pumps. They are hoping to find out who has been doing so.

9.RATIFICATION OF MOTION MADE ON DECEMBER 17, 2015 BY COUNCILMEMBER DENNIS SWEAT, SECONDED BY COUNCILMEMBER GORDON STEWART TO WAIVE FEES ON COMMUNITY CENTER ON DECEMBER 19TH AND 20TH, 2015.

Councilmember Dennis Sweat made the motion to approve the ratification of motion made on December 17, 2015 by Councilmember Dennis Sweat, seconded by Councilmember Gordon Stewart to waive fees on Community Center on December 19th and 20th, 2015.

10.MAYOR MIKE CRAWFORD UPDATES AND PENDING MATTERS AND MATTERS RELATED THERETO.

Crawford spoke with the council about updates on the BonnevilleMuseum and also explained to the new council about what happens at the council meetings.

11.CITY ADMINISTRATOR GLENN WADSWORTH UPDATES AND PENDING MATTERS AND MATTERS RELATED THERETO.

City Administrator Glenn Wadsworth mentioned to the council he is currently trying to replace the muffin monster because the old one is malfunctioning.

14.CITY ATTORNEY JOEL LINARES UPDATES AND PENDING MATTERS. DISCUSSION/DECISIONS

A)CITY OF WENDOVER CODE BOOK

City Attorney Joel Linares told the council the book is done and he just needs to send it over for the council and mayor to review.

B)CONSIDERATION OF ORDINANCE GRANTING ANNEXATION PETITION FILED BY CITY OF WENDOVER FOR 10.01877 ACRES WHICH IS THE CITY’S CEMETERY.

City Councilmember Gordon Stewart made the motion to accept ordinance 2016-01 granting annexation petition filed by City of Wendover for 10.01877 acres which is the City’s cemetery. Motion seconded by Councilmember Dennis Sweat. Roll Call; Councilmember Dennis Sweat, Aye, Councilmember Gordon Stewart, Aye, Councilmember Radine Murphy, Aye, Councilmember Manuel Carrillo, Aye, and Councilmember Dale Higley, Aye. Motion passes.

15.COMMENTS FROM AUDIENCE:

Jon Warner from Goshute Housing spoke to the council that they are currently looking for property to purchase within Wendover Utah if possible to build a small community for the Goshute tribe. He reported that 90 percent of the residents in Ibapah said they would move to the Wendover area since there are jobs in Wendover. Mayor Mike Crawford said, “We will have to look into it and see what we can do for you.”

Brenda Little asked the council if there is a place to recycle in Wendover. Mayor Crawford told her there is not a recycle place either in Wendover orWest Wendover.
