Parking

We have limited parking reserved for disabled patrons at the back of the building. Please book this in advance at reception. An usher can be on hand to open the back doors to allow easy access into the main hall.

The main car park is adjacent to the Co-op, just off the high street and a short walk to Wem Town Hall. There are toilets located on the car park with a charge of 20p. Benches are also available on Jubilee Square, just opposite the car park.

There are disabled bays for blue badge holders at the Main car park but please be aware that charges still apply. The car park is open 24 hours a day and charging hours are between 8am and 6pm.

The machines will take £1, 50p, 20p, 10p and 5p coins but will not take £2, 2p or 1p coins.

Access Information

Wem Town Hall is situated on the High Street, next to Wem Treacle Mine and opposite The Butchery. There is wheelchair access to the venue through the glass automatic doors.

The cinema and foyer have Induction Loop systems operating. Infra Red enhanced hearing headsets are also available for cinema patrons and do operate with hearing aids. Please ask an usher for more information. Please note that we only have limited number of headsets and booking in advance in advised.

Guide dogs are welcome in all parts of the building.

Toilets

Wheelchair accessible toilets are available on all floors of the building. These will be very well signed. If you are unsure, please ask a member of staff.

Refreshments

Wem Town Hall’s Truly Scrumptious cafe is open Monday to Friday 9am-4pm (food until 3pm) and Saturdays 9am-3pm (food until 2pm). There is a variety of made to order food on offer including sandwiches, wholesome toasties, seasonal soups and salads, pasta dishes, and a range of tempting specials for lunch. The menus have been designed to be clear and easily readable but a dementia friendly menu is also available. The menu is also available on our website.

You are very welcome to take food and drink into the cinema.

Cinema

There will be a 20 minute interval at all of our Dementia Friendly screenings where tea/coffee and biscuits will be available. Trained ushers will be on hand to assist – they will be wearing red volunteer lanyards and ‘Ask me for help’ badges.
