Entry Criteria

Use one (or more) of following paragraphs describing race format. You will need to use one for the ‘main’ seeded event, and (where necessary) one for the U10/U12 event:

Indoor CN

The event is a Special Slalom consisting of two single-run races on different courses, and is open to Home Nation registered racers in the following categories: U14, U16, U18, U21, Senior, Masters. Prizes will be awarded based on the combined times from both races.

Standard 2-run Slalom

The event is a Special Slalom consisting of two runs on different courses, with the result decided on the combined times from both runs, and is open to Home Nation registered racers in the following categories: U14, U16, U18, U21, Senior, Masters.

Outdoor CN

The event is a Special Slalom consisting of three runs in the same course, with the result decided on the best of the first two runs plus the third, and is open to Home Nation registered racers in the following categories: U14, U16, U18, U21, Senior, Masters.

Excel

The event is a Special Slalom consisting of three runs in the same course, with the result decided on the best of the three runs, and is open to Home Nation registered racers in the following categories: U14, U16, U18, U21, Senior, Masters.Entry numbers are limited to a maximum of 75 racers.

All races involving U10/U12 age categories will be run using ‘stubby’ gates.

Unregistered Racers

If the race is under-subscribed, racers who are not registered with any Home Nation may be entered into the race by completing the Entry Form and signing an Athlete’s Declaration.

Start Order

The start order will be drawn at the Jury meeting on Thursday DD MMM YYYY using the BARTS Indoor or Outdoor Seed ListYYYY.XX. This seed list can be found on the web site The start lists will be published on and on the official notice board on the morning of the race.

Use first paragraph below for indoor, second for outdoor

For the first run the top 15 seeded competitors will be drawn, with competitors seeded 16th onwards running in seed point order. For the second run the start order will be reversed.For the Under 10s in the first run they will be randomly drawn, with the girls going first followed by the boys. In the second run the boys will go first followed by the boys, and the start order will be reversed.

For the first run of the CN race the top 15 seeded competitors will be drawn, with competitors seeded 16th onwards running in seed point order. The highest bib number will run first. For the second run, the start order will be the same. For the Under 10s in the first run they will be randomly drawn, with the girls going first followed by the boys. For the second run, the start order will be the same. For the third run in both the CN and Under-10s race, the start order will be reverse order of the best time from the first two runs, the slowest will run first.

Race Rules/Health and Safety

The race will be run under FIS rules as varied by SSE and published in the British Artificial Competition Rules(BACR). Please see BACR Rules.

Add in here any slope specific rules. For example:- do they have to wear helmets at all times; only the racer is allowed at the start; if public lessons are running on other slopes; are BBQ’s allowed; where ski prep can take place; are ski boots allowed in the bar.

Two Examples, one outdoor and one indoor:-

Racers will be required to wear a helmet, gloves, long trousers and a long sleeved garment, which also covers the midriff, to reduce the risk of injury, at all times whilst on the slope, including during open practice and course inspection during the race. No ski preparation or spraying is to take place within the start area. No smoking is allowed in the start area. To comply with Health and Safety within the slope NO PERSONAL COOKING EQUIPMENT OR BBQs will be allowed.

The training slope, to the right of the main slope will be out of bounds, there will be public lessons in progress on this slope at various times. During open practice bibs MUST BE WORN so number is visible from back and front. Racers without a bib will be asked to leave the slope. Racer assistants (e.g. coach or parent) will NOT be allowed in the Start Area because of the restricted size and the impact of overall numbers on the authorised fire capacity of arena. Only authorised people allowed in the snow arena, this includes any area of the snow through the airlock.

Course Inspection

The course must be inspected wearing skis and bibs must be carried on yourperson. No racer is allowed to ski the course during inspection. Course inspection may startat any point on the course and racers must come to a complete stop between each gate wheninspecting the course.

Race trainers/coaches may accompany their racers provided they are qualified and carry the relevant accreditation issued by the race office on the day or prior to the race. A High Vizjacket mustbe worn.[delete last sentence if not applicable]

No other people will be allowed to enter the race area.

Referee’s Report

Protests against the Referees Report must be made on official forms, which will be available at the race office. These must becompleted and handed in within the set time limit and accompanied by a fee of £25.00.

Refunds

Excepts as noted below, race entry fees are non-refundable.Racers withdrawing on medical grounds may obtain a £10 refund of their entry fee if they apply to the Race Secretary andprovide certified medial evidence to support their application.

Commentator sheets and race bibs

Commentator sheets must be completed and handed in when collecting their bibs. Race bibs must be returned to the finishmarshal on completion of their final run.Failure to do so will result in a charge of £25.00 for each missing bib.

Photography

Racers who do not wish to be photographed by any accredited photographer must notify the Race Secretary in writing by theend of race registration. Please email the Race Secretary atxxxif you do not wish to be photographed.

The winners will be expected to show due courtesy to the organisers by attending the prize giving. Those who do not attendwithout good reason lose their claim to an award.

First Aid

St John’s Ambulance personnel will be in attendance. Amend as necessary
