TODAY is PREPARATORY SUNDAY. The Lord willing, we hope to celebrate the Lord’s Supper next Sunday morning. Therefore, God’s word instructs us to examine our lives prior to partaking of the sacrament.

We welcome Pastor Marvin Leese retired pastor from Sioux Center as he leads us in our worship services. May the Lord bless the proclamation of His Holy Word.

Free Food Available: The Food Bank of Iowa mobile pantry will be distributing food on Tuesday, February 13th from 4-6 p.m. at the Sibley Christian Reformed Church. If you or anyone you know could use some help with food, please come. Please bring your own bags, baskets, or boxes to carry your food.

If you would like to help with the mobile food pantry on Tuesday, February 13th we would appreciate it. You can let us know by talking to Keith or Lois Boersma.

The monthly Fishes & Loaves Kitchen meal is being held in the Sibley First Presbyterian Church fellowship hall on Saturday, February 17, at 6:00 p.m., games beginning at 5 p.m. Spaghetti, salad, garlic bread and cake will be served. There is no charge or freewill offering. All are invited to attend.

ADVANCE ANNOUNCEMENTS

Fellowship of the Carpenter's annual Soup & Pie Supper fundraiser is being held in the Sibley First Presbyterian Church fellowship hall on Wednesday, February 21, from 5-7 p.m. For take-out delivery orders, please call 754-2479 at 4:30 p.m. Cheesy chicken tortilla, chili, chicken 'n noodle, vegetable beef, and broccoli and cheese soups will be available, along with ham and cheese sandwiches and a variety of pies and desserts. Freewill offering. All are welcomed and invited to attend.

The UCHS Science Fair Open House will be held on Thurs., Feb. 22 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the science rooms. Come and see the interesting exhibits and displays our science students have prepared.

Unity Christian High School is hosting a Jr. High Band Festival at Unity on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018. The five bands from surrounding area who will be performing are: Ireton Christian, Orange City Christian, Sheldon Christian, Sioux Center Christian, and the Unity Christian Symphonic Band. Individual bands will be performing the first part of the concert followed by three mass songs to conclude the concert. It is sure to be an enjoyable evening of instrumental music. The band festival concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.

WeCare of Osceola Countywill be hosting a Pork Loin MealonSunday, February 25thas a fundraiser for the family of Brian Daiker.Briandied unexpectedly on December 5, 2017.He is survived by hiswife Jamiey (Gaalswyk) Daiker and two children, ages 11 and 5. Jaimey is employed by the Sibley-Ocheyedan School District.The meal will be served from11am until 1pmin the Sibley-Ocheyedan High School Commons at120 11th Avenue NEin Sibley. The meal will consist of grilled pork loin or hot dogs, cheesy potatoes, green beans, tea roll, dessert, coffee, lemonade& water.
