Welcome to the beginning of the 2017season!
Rosenberg National Little League would like to take this opportunity to familiarize you with the League and hopefully answer any questions you may have. Included in this packet isinformation pertaining to what Little League baseball is and its goal, the RNLL Board of Directors, safety issues, volunteering, expectations of you, 2017fundraiserand a calendar of events.
Volunteering
Rosenberg National Little League is always looking for responsible and enthusiastic volunteers. Volunteers can organize or support events and activities hosted by the Little League. Volunteering allows you to meet new people, interact with your child’s activity and help your community. To be become a volunteer, you will need to complete a Volunteer Application. RNLL Board Members can provide you with an application.
The league is looking for dedicated parents to step up and take the role of a boardmember for the 2017 season. As the years go by, board members move on to high school baseball/softball and leave a big vacancy on the board or as a dedicated volunteer. I am asking parents who have players in the league that have time to step up and commit to helping run the league, please consider. The season runs from January through the end of July/August. This league cannot continue from season to season without dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers.
Safety
RNLL strives to provide the safest environment for all participants and spectators of Little League. Therefore, you are asked to follow all rules and suggestions issued by the Board of Directors, Managers, Coaches and other League Officials.
- RNLL strongly suggest that each player has his/her own batting helmet to use during practice and games. If you choose to use a League issued helmet you must wear a cap under it.
- When parking at Seabourne and SunsetPark you must park in the lot in front of the fields and maintain a low speed while driving in the lots.
- In the agreement with the City of Rosenberg and RNLL, both playing facilities (Seabourne and Sunset) must remain clean. This means there should be no trash left after the games. Please assist the league with this agreement and pick up around the bleachers and playing area after each game or practice that your son or daughter participate in.
Expectations
One of the most important things you can do as a Little League parent is show positive support of all players. While many parents are very enthusiastic about the game, it is important that you do not take personal offense to decisions made by League Officials, Managers or Coaches. Most of the time these decisions are made due to League rules that you may not be familiar with. If you have a question regarding a particular call or rule, contact your Manager, Coach or RNLL Board Member. The rules are enforced simply for the safety of your child, ensuring that he/she has a positive experience with Little League baseball.
Included in this packet is the Little League Pledge. The pledge is for the players and we ask that you help your child learn this pledge so that they may recite it on Opening Day. Also included arethe Youth Sports Parent Code of Conduct and The Little League Parent/Volunteer Pledge.
