Are You Really a Professional

We all like to think we are professionals, but perhaps, we need to examine our professionalism and ourselves more in depth. Unquestionably, we all could use some improvement; maybe, this outline will spark some ways in which you might improve. If so, you are resourceful enough to know where to get information or support in making those improvements - maybe, through your colleagues, mentors, or local association, using books and seminars as additional tools.

1) Are you Ethical in all your actions and communications?

(a) Do you know the Rules of Professional Responsibility?

  • (i) Confidentiality
  • (ii) Conflict of Interest
  • (iii) Competence and diligence
  • (iv) Unauthorized Practice of law
  • (v) Fee splitting

(b) Are you honest

  • (i) With your employer?
  • (ii) With the clients?

2) Do you have the Skills and Education to do the Job?

(a) Communication Skills

  • (i) Professional speech
  • (ii) Use of proper Terminology

(3) Articulate

Presents Educational Opportunities: FREE Web Seminars

Article 9 Basics

This 1-hour presentation is an entry-level introduction to the UCC search and filing process. It explains the purpose of the UCC, defines the terminology and provides an overview of search and filing best practices. The course is designed for anyone new to the secured transactions process or as a refresher for those with more experience.

The secured party's responsibility for perfection of its security interest does not end with the filing of a financing statement.
