WELCOME TO NAVIANCE!

To access your Naviance account, please visit Log onto the program with the following:

Account: lovehs

User Name: firstname.lastname

Password: recent password of your choice (see Brett or Niki to reset)

When you first log on, you will see the following screen. Note that “Teacher Recommendations” is located on the left hand side of the screen.

Once a student has requested a letter in Naviance, you will receive an email indicating that you have a new request. After selecting “Teacher Recommendations”, you will be able to see the request(s).Under the “Actions” heading, choose the option to “prepare forms”.*Note: If you have not received a request in Naviance, it is the student’s responsibility to send a request from his/her account.

At the top of the screen, you must change from “Student Details” to “Prepare”.

Next, select the “+Add” button listed next to “Teacher Documents”.

After selecting “+Add”, the following screen will pop up. To upload a letter of recommendation that you have already completed, select “Upload a File”.

At this point, you will be prompted to select the following:

1) Application: The default setting will allow you to send your letter to all colleges in the student’s list. However, you may only need to send the letter to specific colleges. Each student is responsible for indicating which colleges need to receive your letter.

2) Type: Choose “Letter of Recommendation”.

3)File Name: Browse to upload the student’s letter.

To complete this process, choose “Upload File” at the bottom of the screen.

When your letter has uploaded, it will appear at the bottom of the screen.

**The following process only applies if the student applied via the Common Application: All students who a complete Common Application will need teachers to include a Common App Teacher Evaluation. This form accompanies your letter of recommendation. In order to upload the teacher evaluation, you must choose the option to “Prepare a Form”. When you complete the Common App Teacher Evaluation, be sure to save the form using the button at the bottom of the screen.

Next, choose the “Send” option at the top of the screen. Then, be sure to check the appropriate box next to each college that requires your letter (and Common App Teacher Evaluation when necessary). Finally, click “Review and Submit” at the bottom of the screen.

In order to verify that your letter was sent, you may click on “Submission Status” at the top of the screen. It typically takes a few minutes to show that a letter was sent through Naviance, so be patient when viewing this screen.
