Welcome to Latin Dance Club 2011-2012

Dear Students, Parents, and/or Guardians,

Welcome to DHS Latin Dance Club! We have just finished a successful year, and continue to look forward to many years of success. This year, we will continue to appreciate Hispanic culture specifically through dance and music.

In this document, you will find important information about our group, such as expectations, attire, the group’s identity, commitment, registration and the group’s compromise.

This group was made with the students in mind so they can have a time to distract themselves productively by learning to dance while acquiring leadership and organizational skills. This environment allows the students to have a healthy past time and make new friends. The group meets after school at Dominion HS in room 506 (or Black box or cafeteria) from 4pm to 6pm. We meet up twice a week on Monday and Wednesday. As we shows and performances approach, we request more days for practice (including the weekends). The students will take part in presentations, competitions and multicultural events taking place in Titan Territory, as well as other educational entities.

The sponsors of the group are: Mrs. Kimberley Fogelson—French and Spanish teacher and Mr. Carlos Parra—Spanish teacher for all fluent-speaking classes and AP Spanish. We also count with the assistance of Ms. Sarah Sierralta—Spanish teacher at the Middle Schools as well as several alumni from previous years of the group’s history and of course the help of the parents. Very similarly, we will also count on the help of professionals to just give the group some direction pertaining to choreographies.

We appreciate your contribution and infinite collaboration in our desire to be the best at what we love doing: DANCE!. We will be working diligently to ensure the group’s success as well as the development of each and every single student involved.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate in contacting us at 571-434-4400 or via email to:

Sincerely,

Mrs. Fogelson. Mr. Parra. Ms. Sierralta
