WELCOME TO DRAWING & PAINTING 2
Get ready to express, create, and enjoy art! I am eager to take you on this journey. As you can see on the attached syllabus, many projects will be explored. For you to produce your best on these projects, you need to start smart in ART every day. That means being on time, prepared, and ready to work. Please refer to the attached learning contract for details on stART smART.
This is a studio class, and many of the projects require materials or equipment that are only available in the classroom. That is why it is so important to maintain good attendance. In creating your artwork, you will not only gain knowledge of art materials, tools, techniques, art history, and career possibilities, but you will also exercise your imagination and “see” things in a new way.
I look forward to guiding you to success in Drawing & Painting 2, and am eager to see the wonderful and exciting things you will produce.
Learning Contract

DAILY SUPPLIES:
Notebook: Duo tang folder filled with lined paper
Sketchbook (preferably with a spiral binder)
No. 2 Pencil – EVERY DAY
Magic Rub eraser
Colored pencils and markers (This is optional, but if you want to guarantee color selection you may want to purchase your own sets.
EXPECT TO LEARN, CREATE, AND USE YOUR IMAGINATION!!!
Be ON TIME and in your seat when the bell rings
Be PREPARED with all daily supplies
Be RESPONSIBLE. Use call time wisely and turn projects in on time.
Be HELPFUL and RESPECTFUL to others.

ATTENDANCE:
In order to succeed, you need to be in class regularly and eager to work. The majority of work in this class will need to be done at school as all materials and supplies will be kept in class.
GRADING:
All projects will be graded based on the following rubric:
Craftsmanship= 25 Points
Originality= 25 Points
Directions= 25 Points
Effort= 25 Points

A Letter grade will then be assigned according to the standard high school grading scale.
