Cinderella

Welcome to Cinderella!

I am very pleased with the cast(s) we have assembled this year! In this process, every actor is important – whether you are an ensemble member, a supporting role, or a principal. That means that each person in the cast is expected to bring their best every single day of rehearsal.Below are listed my expectations during rehearsals. Please review this with your parents, have them sign the next page, and return it to me no later thanMONDAY, JANUARY 9, 2017. Keep this page for your reference.

Please review the calendar and list ANY AND ALL ANTICIPATED CONFLICTS, including the date and the reason for the conflict below. Any absences not listed below will result in being placed on probation. Two unexcused absences will result in expulsion from the show.

TECHNICAL AND DRESS REHEARSALS ARE NON-NEGOTIABLE, AS ARE PERFORMANCE DATES.

Expectations:

  1. Be on time and stay until you’re released. Rehearsal BEGINS at 3:00 PM with warm-ups, and ends when the calendar says it does. Early is on-time, on-time is late and LATE IS UNACCEPTABLE. 2 tardies will result in probation, a third will result in expulsion from the play. You are not released until the time indicated on the calendar.
  2. USE YOUR CALENDAR.I spent a tremendous amount of time and effort organizing the rehearsals for this show to ensure our success. Respect that work by using it! Knowing your schedule is your responsibility. Not mine. Look at the calendar.
  3. Always bring your pencil and your script/music. These are an actor’s most important tools for recording blocking, acting notes, and character ideas during rehearsal.Record your blocking, and if you miss a rehearsal ask the stage managers.
  4. Respect your fellow actors. When you are not on stage, you are doing homework, rehearsing your lines, or watching in silence. It is very important that the actors onstage are able to concentrate.
  5. Only the director gives notes. If you have an idea I truly welcome it, but bring it to me privately and I will decide if we can incorporate it. This is to avoid hurting anyone’s feelings.
  6. Academics First. If another teacher asks you to come in for conference period, THAT IS YOUR PRIORITY. Have the teacher write me a note so I know where you have been.
  7. All cast members are expected to attend 10 hours (2 full sessions) of set construction held on Saturdays from 10 AM to 4 PM at the CHS theatre.

PARENTS:

There will be a parent information meeting on Friday, January13, 2017 at 6:00 PM. It should be brief, but it is an opportunity for you to ask questions, and volunteer to assist with the production. Below are some ideas and ways in which parents have helped out in the past that have really elevated our performances. Thank you for all that you do!
