Dear Parent/Carer,
I am delighted you have been offered a place for your child at The Kimberley School.You and your child are most welcome to our school community. Please note that you are required to confirm acceptance of this offer of a place within 14 days. Failure to confirm your place by the given date may result in the place being withdrawn and offered to another child.

Together with this letter are two booklets which offer you and your child important information about transferring to The Kimberley School in September, the Parent/Carer Guide and the Student Guide. We hope that they will provide you with all the information that you need but if there is anything else you wish to know please do not hesitate to contact us. Also included in the pack is a Student Information Form. The information you provide us with on this sheet is vital as it will ensure that we keep your child safe in case of an emergency and facilitate us in making sure that your child’s needs are catered for. Please complete the form and return it in the pre-paid envelope provided by 28th March.
Free School Meals
If your child receives free school meals at their current primary school, you will need to re-apply to Nottinghamshire County Council in order to continue to receive free school meals from September.
Induction Club
Induction Club is an excellent opportunity for your child to make new friends and get to know our staff, as well as begin to learn their way around the school. The club is free and refreshments, which are also free, will be available. Details of the Induction Club are:

Children need to come to the front of the school where they will be met by staff and taken to Lower School where they will be registered. At the end of each club, students are escorted to the front of school where they can be picked up by parents/carers or begin to make their own way home.
When you come to pick up your child after the Induction Clubs, please park in the side car park and not in the car park at the front of school.This will help keep the children safe.
If you would like your child to attend the clubs, please complete the form in this pack and return it in the envelope provided.
Induction Day and Induction Evening
This year we have two induction days, both from 9.00am to 2.35pm.The first induction day is on Wednesday 1st July and the second is on the following Wednesday, 8th July. These induction days will give the Year 6 children an opportunity to meet other students, have a taste of some of the lessons they will experience in September and try out our Bytes Café. They will also be able to ask questions and express any concerns they have about transferring to The Kimberley School in September. Students should wear their primary school uniform on both induction days and bring with them a pen and about £2.50 if they wish to purchase a school meal. If your child prefers to bring a packed lunch with them this is absolutely fine. Students who receive Free School Meals will be catered for and your child’s primary school will provide us with their details.
Induction Evening for parents/carers is on Wednesday 1st July from 6pm to 7.30pm; this is for parents and carers only. This is an opportunity for you to meet Mr Field and Miss Waddington, your child’s Year Heads, as well as other key staff such as your child’s tutor. If you already have children with us it is still worth attending as every year we issue new guidance and support.
