Roundtable Discussion: Information Literacy with the 2017 Summer Faculty Learning Community (FLC). Wednesday, October 18, 12:30-1:30pm,Joseph Hall 101
This summer’s CTE Faculty Learning Communities (FLCs) focused on Information Literacy – a keycollege-wide learning outcome of the Saint Anselm College Core Curriculum. The issue of information literacy for college students is especially pressing today. In 2016, Oxford Dictionaries declared post-truth the international word of the year, underscoring the critical challenges of contemporary life in the Information Age. Navigating fake news, “alternative facts,” viral rumors, andmisinformation in our news, social media, and politics requires a skill set that many of ourstudents have yet to develop. CTE invites all faculty to hear the outcomes of these important Summer Faculty Learning Community discussions.

What pitfalls can you avoid? How can you unleash that diversity for creativity and a more stimulating learning environment? Ande Diaz, Chief Diversity Officer, and Wayne Currie, Director of the Multicultural Center, will facilitate this Conversation.
