Welcome back to Nursery! We hope you all had a lovely Easter break and that the poor weather didn’t dampen your fun? We’ve hit the ground running here at Nursery and the children have wasted no time in diving straight in to all that Nursery can offer them. Thankfully, the weather has allowed us to spend as much time as possible outside, which the children always particularly enjoy.

  • Wed 10th May – Parents Evening - Giraffes

This is a great opportunity to hear about your child’s time at nursery and see how they have progressed with their learning and development. Please select a convenient time on the appointment slips, which are next to the signing-in registers.

  • Fri 12th May – Pepper Pigs Muddy Puddle Walk

We will be taking part in this year’s Pepper Pig Muddy Puddle Walk to raise money for Save the Children. We will be walking for this charity as well as taking part in some Pepper themed activities throughout the day. Please find attached sponsor form, any donations, no matter how small will go to a great cause and will help children all over the world. Children are invited to dress-up as their favourite Pepper Pig character or even perhaps wear something pink. Don’t forget their wellies for jumping in muddy puddles!

  • Mon 15th May – Photographer at Nursery

Tempest Photography will be attending nursery to take photos of the children. Giraffes will also be having a group photo as well as individual ones.

  • Wed 19th July – Teddy Bears Picnic with songs and rhymes

We have a special day planned for the Meerkats! Further information to follow.

SEPTEMBER 2017 – Meerkats have been sent home with a form for you to complete so that we know what sessions you require for September onwards. Please complete these forms as completely and quickly as possible in order for us to plan ready for the new school year. Please complete even if there will be no change. We are receiving a high number of enquiries for September and we would like to ensure our existing children are catered for as a priority before offering any new spaces.

SCHOOL TRANSITIONS – It has been an eventful couple of weeks for our Giraffes with them finding out where they will be going to primary school. We have already started to make contact with the local schools to arrange transition visits and to hand-over your child’s Learning Journeys so that their teachers can get to know more about your child and the wonderful things they can do. We have spoken to many of you already about school admissions during drop off / collection, but if you haven’t already and would like to talk to someone about anything, we are here to support you and your child.

If any parent/carer/grandparent has any skills, musical talents, interests, experiences or a profession that may interest the children, we would be delighted to have you come to Nursery and share your knowledge. Please speak to Louise to make arrangements.

Please ensure that the contact numbers we have for you are up to date, especially mobile phone numbers.

As the weather is beginning to change, we ask that you are vigilant in applying sun cream. We ask that you apply sun cream prior to your child arriving at Nursery. For those children who attend for a full day, sun cream will be re-applied at lunchtime.Should your child need a specific sun cream, please send in a named bottle. Please also send your child with a named sun hat and leave in the allocated box.

Fees – please settle any outstanding invoices. Invoices are to be paid within 2-weeks of receiving your invoice. Failure to pay promptly may result in your child’s place being withdrawn.
