MC:Please stand with me as we open with prayer, led by Fort Smith City Director at large & Pastor of Evangel Temple Assembly of God Church, and then remain standing as we honor America with the presentation of The Colors by Boy Scout Troop 2316, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance
(Minister to open in prayer followed by the cub-scout troop to present the colors and lead us in the pledge of allegiance)
MCHello! My name is ______and I will be your emcee today! Welcome to TUBACHRISTMAS 2015 in Fort Smith, Ar! We are glad you are here! We are pleased to welcome Mayor Sandy Sanders of Fort Smith and would like to welcome the mayor to the podium at this time.
(Mayor to make a presentation to the group)
Immediately following Mayor’s Presentation, Chase Carter will lead the group in the playing of:

MCThank you so much for joining us today at TUBACHRISTMAS! We are joined today by Jared Jones, Band Director at Washington Jr. High School in Bentonville. Jared is the Coordinator of TUBACHRISTMAS in Northwest Arkansas and Jared combined his event in Northwest Arkansas with us this year in Fort Smith!
We are also joined by special guests from three (3) of our armed service bands to Fort Smith. These individuals represent some of the finest musicians in our country and the world. Membership in the armed service bands is highly competitive. These gifted individuals have mastered their respective instruments and competed against hundreds of other performers to earn a place in THE TOP service band for the branch of the armed forces in which they serve. Today, we are pleased to have a member of the U.S. Air Force Band stationed in Washington, DC; a member of The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” stationed in Washington, DC and two members of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, also stationed in Washington, DC. We are honored to have each of them join us today. We will introduce each of them later in our program.
We are also pleased to have with us today several students representing local schools and universities.

______who enjoy playing their instruments at every opportunity – including TUBACHRISTMAS!
We are pleased that each of these Tuba & Euphonium players have chosen to join us today for TUBACHRISTMAS 2015 in Fort Smith!
Our special guests, The American Tuba Quartet, will now perform selections that they have prepared for you today, followed by the combined TUBACHRISTMAS ensemble!

MC:We are pleased to have with us today representatives from American Legion Post 31 and VFW Post 8845, both of Fort Smith. We invite representatives of both groups to join us as we honor our special guests today. (invite the representatives to join us at the front to make a presentation)
We have asked our representatives to present a commemorative gift thanking our guests for their service to our country and for participating in our event in Fort Smith today.
At this time, we would like to introduce our special guests to you. They are:
1.Euphonium player Staff Sergeant Hiram Diaz of the President’s Own United States Marine Band
2. Euphonium player SSG Jeremy McBride of Pershing’s Own United States Army Band
3. Tuba player Technical Sgt. Matthew Shipes of The United States Air Force Band
4. Tuba player Staff Sergeant Simon Wildman of The President’s Own United States Marine Band
Each of our guests will receive a stainless steel image of a Tuba with an inscription to include their name & rank and an inscription which reads WITH SINCERE APPRECIATION: TUBACHRISTMAS 2015, FORT SMITH, ARKANSAS.
Please show your appreciation for The American Tuba Quartet as they are presented with their gifts at this time by members of our local VFW post 8845 and American Legion post 31.
MC:As we continue our concert today, we would like to thank our conductor, Chase Carter, for his willingness to join us today and conduct our event. Mr. Carter is the current Principal of Johnson Westside High School. Previously, Carter was the longtime director of bands at Lavaca High School in Lavaca, Arkansas, where his bands consistently earned superior ratings. Mr. Carter graduated from Van Buren High School and went on to earn his undergraduate degree in Music Education from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He earned his Master’s Degree in Education from Harding University. Mr. Carter is sought out as an adjudicator and conductor of marching and concert band competitions and clinics and is the Conductor of the Fort Smith, Arkansas Community Band.

MC:Thank you everyone for attending TUBACHRISTMAS 2015 in Fort Smith! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
SERVICE BAND QUARTET TO PERFORM A SPECIAL CONCERT FOR ALL TUBACHRISTMAS PERFORMERS WHO WISH TO ATTEND. A Master Class will follow their performance with opportunities for some players to play for the service bandsmen. This event will be held at Northside High School in the band room. The event will begin as soon as we can transition from here to there. All performers and their families are invited to attend.
