WEB IIP GRAPHING

SETTING UP THE DATA

On WEB IIP plan system, click on the “DATA COLLECTION” tab. In the center of the screen click on “Enter Data for Graphing” The following screen will appear.

Y Axis Label – The name of your data - (i.e. Correct Words Per Minute) The Y axis is on the left side of the graph – the up and down side.

Minimum & Maximum Y Score

·  What will be the lowest number and highest number you anticipate for your data?

·  These can be changed later if you find you need to.

·  Only whole numbers can be entered.

Interval – Means how you want the numbers to count up by on the left side of the graph – by 5’s; by 10’s?

Starting Date/Ending Date – The date of the start of the IIP and the end of the IIP.

Include Summer Months – Usually “No.”

Aim Line -

·  The line that goes from your Baseline Score to your Goal

·  You need to put in the #’s for this – Your baseline (middle number of your 3 baseline probes) and your goal (where you want the student to be at the end of the IIP) Type numbers on the lines.

·  The program will only draw one aimline. If you have two sets of data, the aimline drawn will be based on the data in Data Set A.

·  You can adjust the color and the style of the line.

Color - Irrelevant if you do not print in color.

Aim Line Type – The drop-down menu gives you a choice of what you want the Aim Line to look like – a dashed line, a dotted line, a solid line. You choose one.

Data Set A –

·  The Main goal set on the IIP

·  Legend Text – What data you are looking at (CWPM, Errors, etc.)

·  Again, you can adjust the color and style of the line.

Data Set B – Optional

·  A Secondary goal you may be measuring such as errors

·  Legend Text – What data are you looking at (CWPM, Errors, etc?)

·  Again, you can adjust the color and style of the line and the data point shape.

Trend Line – Optional

·  This is a line that is added to show you the general direction the student is going with their goal.

·  You can adjust the color and style of this line, as well.

Baseline – Optional

·  This is a vertical line that shows you where your baseline data ends.

·  You can adjust the color and style of this line.

Phaseline – Optional

·  This is a vertical line that indicates where you made a change in the students instruction (i.e. You started Orton Gillingham or you made a change in the student’s seating)

Graph Legend Location –

·  Allows you to indicate where your legend will be printed on the graph

·  “Right” is the most common location

Number of Trend Line Points - Optional

·  Allows you to determine how many points the computer will use to calculate the trend line.

Grade Level Norms – Optional

·  If you have norms you want included, these will be added here. The first box is for 25% norms, the second box is for 50% norms.

·  If you don’t have norms, just click “None”

·  The result on the graph will be a grayed area which indicates the norms of regular ed students.

Graphing Score Data –

·  This is the data you will enter for your student.

·  You need to have a date and a score.

·  If the scores you are entering are baseline data, you will check the box under the column that says “baseline”

·  The program will only allow you to make one check mark in the baseline column, so you will put your check mark on the last baseline data entry.

·  If you wish to put in a phase line, check the box “Phaseline”

·  In the Phase line description box, you can write in a short narrative of what the change was you made.

GRAPHING THE DATA

Create Your Graph –

·  Above the data sets, you will see a button labeled “Save and Graph”. Click on this button and your graph will appear.

·  You may need to adjust your printing preferences. To do this, go to File, then Page Setup and set your printing preferences to the lowest possible .1 for left and right margins and .5 for your top and bottom margins.
