Chapter Size: 65 / Several years ago, a nurse migrated from hospital to hospital, across state boundaries, and had the reputation of being an “angel of death”. He was able to do so because our industry’s policy was to verify only name, rank and serial number for a reference. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania attempted to address this problem and the “Healthcare Institution Applicant Reference Form” was born - thanks in large part to Joe Micucci.
The purpose of this process is to allow employers the protection of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’ s new law and for employers to be enabled to make informed hiring decisions for positions that involve interactions with patients. / Thom Rossi
