Reception

http://pensbyprimaryschool.org/

We have spent this week finishing off our space topic. Next week we will start our Africa topic.

In phonics this week we have recapped the sounds we already know and learnt our ‘ee’ sound which the children have already begun using in their writing!

In maths we have been continuing to look at addition, trying to write our sums independently. We have also continued to find a few more or less of a number, lots of us are doing a great job working out the answers mentally. Well done!

We will ‘Race for Life’ here at Pensby Primary School, on Friday 27th May 2016 and would like to make it a really fun day. We would ask that the children come into school on that day wearing their favourite sports clothes, suitable for running, jogging or walking in. There will also be items for sale during the week beginning 23rd May – more information on this will follow closer to the time.

On Friday 27th May 2016, in addition to the Race for Life, Year 6 are going to plan, prepare and manage their own fun activities and games for all the other children in the school to enjoy. Many of the games offer prizes, all of which have been bought by the children in Year 6 (and their families). Throughout the afternoon your child will be able to take part in a variety of activities. These range from ‘Hair Styling’ to ‘Beat the Goalie’ and are completely FREE. There will be prizes on offer (mostly sweets) and it will be a fun and engaging afternoon. Please inform us if your child has any allergies that may be affected by face paint, tattoos, hair spray/gel etc.

A sponsorship form and a card that your child can complete and attach to their outfit on the day of the Race will be sent home by Friday 13th May, giving you two weeks to try to raise as much money as you can!

As we are now a cashless school we have set up a ‘Just Giving’ page which you will need to access in order to donate.

Please go to www.justgiving.com/pensbyprimary or alternatively click on the link which is on each class page.

Have a brilliant weekend! See you all next week.

Thank you

Miss Scott, Mrs Jones,

Miss Bennett.
