Group Curator,

If you are curating an area with multiple maker exhibits, this kit is for you. Thank you for organizing your group at Maker Faire Bay Area 2012. We are looking forward to working with you!

We have provided the information below to make your role enjoyable.

Let’s get started:

As a Curator, you are responsible for:

  • Creating the main exhibit application for your Group
  • Encouraging your group members to submit individual project applications and advise each member of your group to enter the group name in their application
  • Assisting with designing the exhibit layout
  • Being onsite to coordinate setup

We know your expertise will help us showcase your exhibit effectively and make the experience better for your group members and the attendees.

To make your task easy, we’ve provided the attached Curator Checklist. Please follow these simple steps, and let us know if you have any questions. We are here to support you along the way.

If you would like to see your assigned space before Maker Faire, we will be onsite the following days and would be happy to meet with you to review your logistics. If you are interested, register here:

Thursday, March 29th, 12pm-3pm

Thursday, April 12th, 12pm-3pm

Thursday, April 26th, 12pm-3pm

We have provided sample letters, which you can edit and send to your group members. They include important points to communicate and emphasize. Please send this email to your group as soon as possible so they have time to submit their entry before March 27th.

Remember, we’re here to help. If you have any questions, contact Kate Rowe, Maker Relations or 707-827-1484.

We appreciate your time and thank you for making Maker Faire Bay Area 2012 even better!

Review the Maker Manual so you can answer your group members’ questions:

Review sample letter 1, include items listed, edit accordingly, and send to your group.

If you plan to exhibit your own project within your group, submit an entry for yourself: Important: Be sure to select one the links after “No, none of these are me!” so that the Maker Information in your first entry is not overwritten.
