Transport Matters

Kevin Ings and Rachel Webb- from Community transport Hampshire County Council

( )

Local buses are private operators and they decide where and when the service is needed.

HCC is responsible for home school and special schools transport. About £30 million is spent every year for home school transport.

Community transport side works with the voluntary sector – some services are operated under contract and some are under volunteers with advice from HCC.

Any money is generally targeted to use for day time services where the bulk of the users are.

Travel Line:

Concessionary fares are dealt through Hants Direct.

Madeleine queried the training of taxi drivers. Kevin said there is a framework in place and conditions of contract are very clear about training. Monitoring is generally done if someone raises issues so please ring if there is any problem. Generally, contracts are for four years but it can vary with school terms. One of the challenges is to find enough taxies to meet the demand.

Rachel can be contacted for a list of approved taxis.

Partnership Board matters

LIG finances: the LIG Chairs met and there will be redistribution of LIG money between the LIGs (about £3000+ each) to last til April 2015. So we need to be careful with money when we put on events etc.

Health Event: we agreed to move the LIG meeting forward to 10 am next month, to finish around 11.15 am so that people can go to New Milton for the Health Event. We agreed £50 from LIG money to go towards the refreshments. Flo will email Anthea.

The next Partnership Board will be in October and we will have mini workshops for the LD consultation.

We have elected Emma Denton as Becci has stood down. Well done to Emma.

LD Plan draft consultation

We have a mini consultation in Totton and a big consultation in New Milton
