We Didn’t Start the Fire – Movie Maker Project

1. Create your own version of the song starting with the year you were born. Use movies, tv shows, historical events, famous people, famous landmarks, etc…

2. Use Encyclopedia Britannica as a good starting place:

User name: bryantnorth Password: learn

And look at the timelines.

3. You must follow the rhyme scheme of the song.

·  Each first line of each verse must rhyme.

Harry Truman, Doris Day, Red China, Johnny Ray

South Pacific, Walter Winchell, Joe DiMaggo.

Joe McCarthy, Richard Nixon, Studebaker, television

North Korea, South Korea, Marilyn Monroe.

·  The last name mentioned in every verse must rhyme with the last name mentioned in the next verse.

Harry Truman, Doris Day, Red China, Johnny Ray

South Pacific, Walter Winchell, Joe DiMaggo.

Joe McCarthy, Richard Nixon, Studebaker, television

North Korea, South Korea, Marilyn Monroe.

4. You must have 3 complete original verses in between the chorus (we will use the same chorus), so that is 8 lines, chorus, 8 lines, chorus, 8 lines, chorus.

5. You will use movie maker to create your project (see movie maker directions). You do NOT have to sing. You must have pictures, and you must have the words to your song in your movie if you do not sing.
