Dear Parent,

We are SO proud of our 1st place OMS Readers Rally team!! The students were very impressive and represented Osborne both academically and professionally. Thank you for your commitment and support. We appreciate being in “reading partnership” with you!

The regional reading bowl competition will be held at AugustaStateUniversity this Saturday, February 9th. Registration begins at 9:15 a.m. in the lobby of the University Hall and orientation for all teams will take place at 10:00 a.m. in the auditorium. The rounds of questions will begin immediately following orientation and each team will participate in six rounds. All rounds should be through by 12:00 noon and the closing ceremony is scheduled for 12:15 p.m.

GwinnettCounty will provide bus transportation to Augustafor the top two middle and high school student teams and their coaches. The transportation option does not include parents. The bus will depart from MillCreekHigh Schoolat 6:45 a.m. on Saturday morning with an anticipated return to the school at approximately 4:15 p.m. that afternoon. Students will need to be at the school before 6:30 a.m. to load the bus.

Parents are encouraged to attend the reading bowl in Augusta and provide their own transportation for their child. To get to the University Hall at AugustaStateUniversity, take I-20 East to the Wheeler Road Exit. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right onto Wheeler Road. Stay on Wheeler Road until you get to Walton Way Extension. Turn right onto Walton Way Extension and get ready for a quick left onto Walton Way. The university is about 2-3 miles on your right. When you turn into ASU, University Hall will be the building on the left. There is a “roundabout” just as you turn into the school, but it’s easy to navigate. The parking lot for University Hall is next to the building. Enter the building from the parking lot side into the lobby area.Inside the lobby, look for one of the coaches to directyou to our team area.

Vending machines are available in the lobby of University Hall, but lunch is not provided. A book fair will be open during the competition for readers and parents.

Please have your child return the attached form to Louise Doughty in the MediaCenter tomorrow, so we can finalize the details for the team. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact Louise at school (770-904-5416) or after hours

(678-227-1264).
