Teacher Only Day Reminder:
A reminder about Teacher Only Day this coming Monday 17 November 2014. School will be closed for instruction on this day.
On this day staff will be involved in Professional Development centred on Future Orientation Education Systems with Derek Wenmoth from Core Education in the morning and with Gary Taylor from Canterbury University discussing the Assessment PACT Tool in the afternoon.
Fun4Us are possibly going to open for the day but this has not yet been confirmed. Please call them directly to find out more on 383-3128.
We work hard to ensure that our staff at Queenspark are up to date with curriculum teaching strategies for our children and we value the way you support us with this.
Jump Jam:
On Saturday 8 November our Jump Jam teams performed at the South Island Competition at Lincoln. We were very proud of all the children on this day. This was the culmination of many months work by the children
(during after school and holiday times ) with their hard working coaches. The growth of confidence shown by the children has been really great to see. They certainly have enjoyed this journey. Thank you to the Mums who have helped out along the way and special thanks to Karen Pearce and Karen Hutchings for their good work here.
School Athletics Days:
Congratulations to all our children for the way they conducted themselves and performed in the recent athletics days. The many Mums and Dads and Grandparents who came down to support the children on these days would have been proud of the resolute way the children went about their events in less than ideal conditions.
Playground Activities
It is great to see the children playing so purposefully in the playground at the moment. We are seeing a lot of children busily involved in lots of games and playing happily as a result. Ask them to teach you the game of hand ball. You are in for a treat. Be prepared to be beaten….. (as I found out!)
Enjoy this long weekend.
