STUDENTS

We are having advisory today for grades 9-12. The advisory bell rings at 10:30 AM. The morning SMA students will come in once they arrive. The afternoon SMA and CTC students will need to leave at the 10:55 AM bell to go to the cafeteria to eat. All others are to be dismissed at the 11:00 AM bell. The 3-block CTC students are to ride the afternoon CTC bus at 11:15 AM.

LHS Senior shirt order forms can be picked up in the front office. Order forms are due to Mrs. Michele Poche by Tuesday, October 3. Cost is $20.

There will be a Senior Week Meeting Tuesday, September 26 in the LHS cafeteria at 6:00 p.m.

Josten’s will be here the morning of Wednesday, September 27 to hand out packets for juniors and seniors. Morning CTC & SMA students will be able to get packets from the front office when they return. Josten’s will return Tuesday, October 3 from 4:00-7:00 in the auditorium to take orders.

There will be a Blood Drive in the auditorium Thursday, September 28. Students’ age 16 and older can donate. Sign up sheets are located in the front office and counselors office. Students who donate will earn free tickets to the Mortuary Haunted House, a free t-shirt, and seniors will be entered to win cash scholarship.

LHS is selling regular season student athletic passes for students who would like to be able to have access to all 2017-18 home regular season LHS athletic events for a discounted price. The passes are $50 and can be ordered through the front office.

Jr. Beta will have a meeting this Friday after school in the library. Jr. Beta dues are due this Friday September 29th at the meeting. Please see Ms. Bergeron if you cannot attend.

Students check their grades by going to the District Home page, clicking on Resources for Parents, then click on Jcampus Student Progress Center. Their login for the student progress center is the same as their laptop login however, it is case sensitive meaning their user name may be a combination of upper and lowercase letters depending on how it was printed on the index card given to them on the first day of school.

SPORTS

All middle school girls interested in playing basketball need to meet Coach Crappell in the game gym Tuesday after school. We will have a short meeting discussing expectations.

There will be boys’ basketball tryouts for anyone not playing football Monday, October 9. Anyone interested must have a completed physical on file in order to tryout. Start time will be announced at a later date. Physical forms are available in the front office.

Seniors are reminded to turn in their nominations to Mrs. Shepard for the song, motto and flower by September 29. You must turn in a printed copy of the name, author and song lyrics, the motto and its author, and the flower and its meaning. Nominations will not be accepted if all information is not turned in on time.

Attn Seniors: Money for the class T-shirts are due on September 29th. The cost is $12. Money should be turned in to Lauryn Scott.

Poetry Out Loud will meet after school on Tuesday, Sept. 26th in Room 206 with Ms. Scott.

ATTN JUNIORS & SENIORS: A representative from Jostens will be here on Monday, October 9th at 10:30 a.m. during Advisory to meet with all Juniors in the cafeteria and all Seniors in the auditorium. He will also be here again on Thursday, October 26th to take orders from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the cafeteria.

ATTENTION JUNIORS! It is time to get your junior fees paid. Please submit payments to Ms. Foret in Rm 300.

The SJH Tabletop Club will meet on Mondays after school until 4:30. Students are to meet in the Art room, 212. There will be a one-time club fee of $5, for maintenance/upkeep of game library. Tabletop club is open to all 9-12 grade students.

JROTC will sponsor its annual Franklinton Fair trip on October 18th. The cost is $35.00. See LTC Colar for more information.

This Thursday, September 28 SJH will host its annual Sr. Night from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. A representative from LOSFA will discuss TOPS and Financial Aid with students and parents. Students please share this important information with your parents so you don't miss out on a great opportunity to gain knowledge about TOPS requirements and FAFSA.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Congrats to the SJH Football Team on their 19 to 0 victory over Wossman on Friday night.

The 2017 SJH Girls Basketball program will have try outs for Middle School and Varsity teams Oct. 9th from 3 to 4-30 pm in the practice gym. All middle school and high school girls interested in playing basketball should sign up with Coach Robinson or Coach Ford and have a current physical.

The SJH Wildcats will play at home this Friday night against St. Amant Game Time 7:00 p.m. Let’s cheer our Wildcats on to another phenomenal victory.
