WCJC’s Important Financial & Registration Dates Fall Semester 2015

June 1, 2015 / Priority Deadline for Fall 2015 Financial Aid Files to be completed. Files completed after this date will be done on a first come, first serve basis.
July 10, 2015 / Open registration for Fall Semester 2015 begins at 12:01 am
August 4, 2015 / Students who have not made full payment for Fall Semester 2015, have not completed financial aid files and been awarded funds or have not signed up for installment payment plan and made first payment will have their course schedules cancelled at 9:00 a.m.
August 17, 2015 / First Day that students can have authorization to charge their textbooks at the college’s bookstore
August 18, 2015 / Students who have not made full payment for Fall Semester 2015, have not completed financial aid files and been awarded funds or have not signed up for installment payment plan and made first payment will have their course schedules cancelled at 9:00 am
August 26, 2015 / Final Registration fee is assessed for all registrations for 16 week and first 8 week courses (through the 31st)
August 31, 2015 / Last day for 16 week and first 8 week course registration. Registration closes at 7:00 a.m. No new registration for these sessions. Students who have not made full payment for Fall Semester 2015, have not completed financial aid files and been awarded funds or have not signed up for installment payment plan and made first payment will have their schedules cancelled at 3:00 pm
August 31, 2015 / First Day of classes for Fall Semester 2015 (schedule changes available, fee assessed for changes)
September 11, 2015 / Last day for students to charge books at the college’s bookstores. System is turned off at close of business (4 pm)
September 14, 2015 / First Day of classes for Fall Semester 14 week classes. Students who have not made full payment for Fall Semester 2015 14 week classes, have not completed financial aid files and been awarded funds or have not signed up for installment payment plan and made first payment will have their schedules cancelled at 3:00 pm
September 16, 2015 / 12th class day also known as “Census Day” or “Verification Day” for full semester courses.
September 21, 2015 / Initial Disbursement of excess financial aid funds begins (grants and loans). The process begins to disburse excess financial aid funds (after satisfying all accounts with the college) to students via e-refund/e-deposit and then, 6-8 days later via checks sent through US mail. Completed financial aid files are processed first. Late and incomplete files are processed later in the semester (through October).
September 26, 2015 / Last day for students to receive any percentage refund on a total withdrawal from college for courses that start on August 31, 2015. Later starting classes will have a later date.
October 2, 2015 / First time Student Loan Borrowers will have funds applied to their accounts, if they started all classes on August 31, 2015 (If they had all financial aid information completed prior to financial aid deadlines for loans. Late and incomplete files will be processed during the course of the semester on a first complete, first serve basis). Students with late starting classes will be on a different schedule.
October 26, 2015 / First Day of classes for second 8 week classes. Students who have not made full payment for Fall Semester 2015 second 8 week classes, have not completed financial aid files and been awarded funds or have not signed up for installment payment plan and made first payment will have their schedules cancelled at 3:00 pm
November 4, 2015 / Students must attend class up to this day to avoid financial aid repayment to the Department of Education
November 20, 2015 / The last day a student can “drop” a course and receive a “W” for the course. After this date, all courses will receive a letter grade.
