Document Purpose

This document is intended to provide the policy of WBSL scheduling. It should be reviewed each year by the Scheduler(s). Each year the goal is to improve upon any lessons learned, therefore this document can and should be updated appropriately if changes are deemed necessary.

General Guidelines and Process

·  WBSL schedules will be posted as soon as possible following the close of registration and evaluations.

·  Schedules are dependent on knowing how many teams are in each division.

·  Once schedules are posted the goal is to have no changes. Especially for the purpose of accommodating individual requests. WBSL schedules over 500 players and changes impact a lot of people, therefore need to be limited.

·  If there are any schedule requests they must come from division directors. Managers and coaches should communicate with their directors who in turn will communicate with the Scheduler(s).

·  Any practice or game cancelation needs to be reported to the scheduler(s). This is needed to free up fields and to update the website which will trigger emails to all the families.

Rain Policy

·  If recreation department closes fields they will communicate to WBSL and Scheduler(s) will cancel all impacted games/practices

·  If fields are open and there is rain or there was rain during the day or night before we need volunteers to check the fields to see if they are usable.

·  It is the responsibility of team managers to make a decision on whether to play or not. If they decide no they need to communicate to the scheduler.

·  If the division in question uses umpires the managers need to also communicate to the Umpire in Chief to ensure he communicates to the umpires that game is canceled.

·  If a decision to cancel is made at the fields and the umpire(s) have arrived they are to be paid even if there is no game.

·  Rained out games will be rescheduled by the scheduler(s).

·  If Griffin B games are canceled the light schedule needs to be deleted.
