Watercolor Pencil Blending Chart

My pencils are very mixed up, so I have no idea which is considered “Green 1” or “Yellow 3.” I lined them up in color groups from lightest to darkest (by my eye, anyway) – so there are:

4 yellows

2 oranges

1 red

5 greens (the funky blue/green one is first)

2 pinks

2 purples

3 blues

2 browns

1 gray

1 black

1 white

Here are my blends. You can use more or less of each pencil. I scribble pencils on watercolor paper (or one of the naturals), then pick up and blend colors with my aqua painter. Play with the combos to see how much of each color you need.

* The yellow can make this a little jaundice-y, so you may need a touch more pink. This one matches my skin tone, but I’m pretty pale. If you’re darker, add a little brown.
