The Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure is in the process of crafting a Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2010. In order to meet the Committee deadline, requests from entities must be submitted to Congressman Baird’s office by COB on November 23rd, 2009.

In a change from previous years, each project request must include a letter of support from the non-federal sponsor for each project. In addition, while this is a confidential document, all project requests submitted by Congressman Baird will be posted on his official website.

The following questionnaire must be completed for us to consider your request and submit the required information to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.

Section 214 authority has been used for navigation and environmental restoration projects, among others.

Section 214 of WRDA 2000 allows the Secretary of the Army to accept and expend funds contributed by non-Federal public entities and to expedite the processing of permits.

Not applicable. This authority provides additional funding to the federal government, and thus does not require any taxpayer funding.

PNWA has sent this request to every member of the Washington, Oregon and Idaho House delegation. Similar requests are also being sent by other entities to Members from California, Texas, and Florida.
