6)

Dams cause earthquakes

A.

True

B.

False(Your Answer)

Explanation

The thinking about Reservoir Induced Seismicity has been ruled out Globally. Obviously as the dam of any height can not trigger an Earthquake at about 1000 to 18000 meters depth . As per the Foundation Pressure Bulb theory the weight of any structure, Dam / Building gets reduced to zero at a depth of the height of the structure . This is basic Civil Engineering / Soil Mechanics concept. As regards water percolating to a depth 1000 t0 15000 meters depth epicenter of the earthquake causing lubricating effect in the rock joints is purely imaginary as water goes into evaporation stage below approximately about 500 -1000 meters.
