2018 NOMINATION PROCESS

(DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF NOMINATION: APRIL 15, 2018)
SELECTION PROCESS:

  1. Deadline for submission of this year’s nominations: received byAPRIL 15, 2018.

Nominations may be submitted by mail or as an attachment to an email.

  1. Information about the nomination process will be mailed and emailed directly to the USYS South Region officers and to the presidents of the USYS South Region state associations and offices.
  2. Information about the nomination process will be posted on the USYS South Region website.
  3. South Region state associations will be encouraged to post the information on their websites.
  4. The USYS South RegionHall of Fame Committee will determine each year’s Inductee(s) no later than four months in advance of the USYS South Region Fall Meeting.
  5. The USYS South Region Hall of Fame Committee will determine each year’s Inductee(s) no later than four months in advance of the USYS South Region Fall Meeting.
  6. Inductee(s)will be quickly informed by the committee of their selection.
  7. Each year’s Hall of Fame Inductee(s) will be presented and honored at the South Region Fall Meeting.

GENERAL CRITERIA:

  1. Nominations for persons to be inducted into the US Youth Soccer South RegionHall of Fame may be submitted by any person who has been or is a player, coach, referee, or administrator for US Youth SoccerSouth Region or for a USYS South RegionOrganization Member. All resumes shall be typed on the Resume form attached to this US Youth Soccer South RegionHall of Fame Nomination Form.
  1. The recognition must be for significant personal achievement in, or contribution to, US Youth SoccerSouth Region. Continued service of the nominee to US Youth Soccer and/or to US Soccer Federation at the national level can be included in a nominee’s resume in support of the statement about the nominee’s service at the regional level.
  1. The demonstrated, positive effect of such achievement or contribution must have set a clear and recognized example for the soccer community to emulate and regard as a model to be followed for personal achievement.
  1. Players - must have reached the minimum age of 22 and have distinguished themselves with an outstanding standard of play and/or performance as a member of USYSSouth Region teams. The player must have participated in youth games as a registered member of US Youth Soccer for at least 6 consecutive years. A significant portion of the player’s participation must have been as a member of a USYS South Region or of a team of a USYS South Region Organization Member. Continued play on national USYS and USSF teams can be cited as additional information.
  1. Administrators, Referees, Coaches, etc. - must have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments and/or leadership that have made significant contributions to the improvement of the sport and its participants in South Region. Contributions at the national level may be cited in support of regional contributions.
  1. Meritorious Recognition - Nominations for this Recognition are for individuals or organizations involved in the support of USYS South Region in non-playing, non-administrative, non-coaching, and non-refereeing capacities.
