We would like to extend an invitation to all families in Washington School to come to our next PTO meeting to be held on Tuesday, January 13th in the auditorium, 7:00 pm. We will feature guest speakers, Commissioner Rogers among them. Childcare will be provided. We look forward to seeing you.
Following are the proposed agenda items for the month of November/December:
Old Business:
· Tuesday, November 18- Question and Answers @ PARCC testing- NHS- 6:30
· PTO Dues must be paid in full by December 23, to rectify our finances for 2014!!! We have sent reminders, please note that these dues cover class parties, assemblies, pumpkins at the pumpkin patch, teacher’s class supplies, etc.

· 2014 – 2015 Volunteer Sign Up in the Event Committee Binder- You can sign up at any PTO Meeting! Please be pro-active and sign up! Due to security reasons if you are not signed up to help at an event, we will have to turn you away. If you are signed up, but can’t make it when we call you, that’s no problem! (All the children are excited to see their parents at an event, be generous with your time and help out for them! We need Dad’s too!!!)Upcoming Events (volunteers are always needed –

v Box Tops- Collection of box tops ends on Thursday, November 20th – Melissa Florie (Chair)
The class that collects the most box tops will win a snack party. This is money for our school, please send them in!!!
v Gertrude Hawk candy sale is doing very well! If you do not wish to sell your box, please return the unopened box to the office. We have about 200 families that have not returned their box or the money for the box.
v American Education Week- Monday, November 17th – Friday, November 21st
v Parent classroom visitation - Friday, November 21; K-3 - 10:00 - 11:00; 4-6 – 2:00 – 3:00
v Night at the Races – Friday, November 21st at the Parks & Rec building, upstairs; 6:30 – 11:00 pm.
This event is a bring your own everything, food, beverages, paper products, dessert, whatever you would like! Cost is $25 per person and you will receive $10 back in “funny money”. This is open to the first 150 people, so get your tickets and make your tables quickly for this fun event!!!
v Patrol Lunch: Tuesday, December 9th - Diane DaCostaLobo and Catherine Laney (Chairs)
v Holiday Boutique: Kim Farro and Dana Polewka (Chairs) Thursday, December 11th Set Up; Friday, December 12th Boutique during school hours, and in the evening. We need volunteers, sign up in the book!!
v Crossing Guard Breakfast: Friday, December 19th at 9:00 am - Nita Talarico (Chair)
v Class Holiday Party: Tuesday, December 23rd – Children will watch Polar Express and have pizza and a drink provided by the PTO for the party.
v PTO Meeting – Tuesday, January 13, 2015 - Happy Holidays, See you next year!
½ Days and School Closures for November and December:
Wednesday, November 26th - 12:30 dismissal for Thanksgiving holiday
November 27, 28th - School Closed for Thanksgiving holiday (Back to School, Monday, December 1)
Tuesday, December 23rd - 12:30 dismissal for Christmas holiday
School is closed for Holiday break- December 24 – January 4
School re-opens Monday, January 5, 2015
