Warriors for Life

Article 1-Name
The name of this organization shall be Warriors for Life.
Article II- Purpose
- To educate the Winona State University Campus and surrounding township about issues and events relating to the life and dignity of human beings with the focus on abortion.
- To promote a culture of life by articulating stances, educating the public, and actively participating in activities which are guided by consistent pro-life ethic.
Article III- Membership
- Any student with genuine interest in promoting a consistent pro-life ethic shall be granted membership to the Warriors for Life.
- The Warriors for life will by no means discriminate based on race, gender, religion, or ethnicity. Any actions of discrimination will be reported to the Warriors for Life officers and advisor.
- A list of members can be found on the WFL online email account.
Article IV-Executive Board
The Warriors for Life shall be governed by a leadership team of four members: the President, the Vice-President, the Secretary, and the Treasurer.
- The President shall prepare the agenda and facilitate each meeting and will be responsible for club email correspondence.
The Vice-President shall be responsible for publicity related to meetings, activities, and related matters. S/he will also work with the Public Relations Committee.
The Secretary will keep a record of activities and membership. S/he will also
upkeep the website or work with a volunteer who will upkeep the website.
The Treasurer will be responsible for records of club funds, collection of
money raised and preparation of budget proposals (both annual and special).
S/he will attend all Alliance of Student Organization meetings (ASO). If the
treasurer is not able to attend the ASO meeting, H/she will find a replacement.
- Notice of nominations and elections shall take place at least one general meeting before they are to be opened. Nominations shall be submitted to the advisor and will be accepted anytime after notice is posted until elections. The club will then vote on the leadership positions.
- Any student interested in being in a position of leadership shall be granted the opportunity to do so with a non-discriminatory election. All persons will be treated in a fair manner.
Article V- Meetings
- The Warriors for Life shall meet regularly. An email will be sent out before the meeting to remind members of it.
- Emergency meetings may be called to coordinate urgent business.
Article VI- Funding
- No dues will be charged for the membership in Warriors For Life
- The Treasurer will handle the budget and financial decisions will be made by the leadership team.
- Funds will be held in an account in the WSU Business Office.
- In the event of the disillusionment of the club, all funds will be returned to the Student Activities Fund Committee of Student Senate for re-appropriation.
Article VII-Committees
- The Warriors for Life will have a Public Relations and Advertising Committee which will be headed by the Vice-President.
- Other committees may be formed as the need rises.
Article VIII-Amendment
- This constitution may be amended by majority of members present.
- The amendments may be proposed in writing at any regular meeting to be voted upon at the next general meeting.
- The amended constitution will then go before the WSU Student Senate for ratification.
- The Warriors for Life constitution must be resubmitted for ratification to the WSU Student Senate at least every two years.
Article IX- Advisor
- The Warriors for Life faculty advisor shall be Barry Peratt.
- The advisor will have the following duties
- Attend regular club meeting
- Maintain contact with club leadership
- In conjunction with the responsibility party from the club, track the club budget.
- Maintain current contact information with the WSU Student Senate.
