RE: 2007 WREN Grant Final Report --- Project ID #10

Dear Ms. Hess,

Since the Interim Report was submitted in December of 2007 the project has continued to run smoothly. Each watershed specialist showed the first draft of the commercials to a group of people who did not have an environmental background to get their feedback. From this feedback it was determined adjustments had to be made to some of the commercials, so a follow-up meeting was held between Crawford, Erie, and Warren County watershed specialists and also Erie County Conservation District’s Education Coordinator and Tracy Graziano (cinematographer), to discuss editing the commercials. Edits were made and airing of the commercials proceeded smoothly; no obstacles were encountered. Commercials began airing the week of April 28th and continued through the week of June 16th; 156 spots were shown. The four commercials produced by this project are now posted on U-Tube and can be reached via the website described below.

Amy Smith of the Erie County Conservation District developed the website which came online in May of 2008. The website describes the topics introduced by commercials and also has several links to educational pages of the EPA website. There is also a location where people can vote for their favorite commercial. To date we have had approximately 500 hits. The web address for the site is www.greentipsonline.com. The website will run until May of 2009 at which point we may seek additional grant funds to keep it running as the Green Tips website or turn it over to the Warren County Conservation District for use as their website.

No press clippings, meeting announcements, publications, or other materials have been produced in conjunction with this project.

Sincerely,

Jean L. Gomory

Watershed Specialist
