Ballet (by Dragonfly Dance)

Mummy & Me Ballet – (20mths) 9:45am – 10:30am / 10:30 – 11:15am Tuesdays

A fun introduction to the world of dance using instruments, scarves and magic wands to develop rhythm and promote co-ordination and technique. The children in this class need to be accompanied by a parent or helper to create a comfortable environment for the children’s first dance experience.

Ballet Belles – (3 years old) 2:45pm – 3:30pm Thursdays

The next step after Parent & Child Ballet / Budding Ballerinas, Ballet Belles promotes independence by having the students come into class by themselves The class focuses on technique, posture and co-ordination through creative imagery and dances enjoyed by 3 years old. Once every term, an open class will be held so that parents may see the progress of their children. They will also be invited to participate in Dragonfly Dance’s End of Year Show.

Little Ballerinas - (4 years old) 9:00am – 9:45am Tuesdays , 3:30pm – 4:15pm Thursdays 3:00pm – 3:45pm Fridays

At this age children will have the confidence and ability to master more advanced dance exercises and begin to learn dance vocabulary. The class will allow children to do more exercises independently and begin to develop skills to memorize dances by themselves. Once every term, an open class will be held. At this level children will demonstrate their regular class exercises and also perform a short dance for their parents during the open class. They will also be invited to participate in Dragonfly Dance’s End of Year Show.

Ballerinas - (5 - 7 years old) 3:30pm – 4:15pm Tuesdays , 4:00pm – 4:45pm Fridays

The Ballerinas class will follow the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus for this age group. They will work on different exercises that will help develop their technique in a structured way. Following a syllabus is beneficial to student’s so as to gauge their progress and development in dance. The students will not participate in examinations but will participate in open classes once every term and perform in Dragonfly Dance’s End of Year Show.

Notes:

- Please send the completed form together with the fees to the school office. Cheques should be made payable to “Garden House”.

- Places are confirmed when payment is paid in full.

Terms and Conditions

- There will be no classes when Black Rainstorm warning, Typhoon signal no. 8 or above is hoisted. It is the school discretion to cancel the classes on Typhoon signal no.3 or Red Rainstorm warning, please contact the school office for confirmation. We regret that no make-up classes for these enforced closures.

- No refund will be given for cancellation classes due to weather conditions or sickness.

- Make up classes will be arranged when classes were cancelled due to illness of teachers.

- The school will be closed on all public holidays and some school holidays, please check the calendar which can be obtained from the school office.

- No photos and videos may be taken in the school premises, unless prior permission was given by school office.

- Garden House will accept no responsibilities for any loss, damage or injury to children and their family members and guests as a result of participating in these activities.
