Job Description

·  Work and meet with Editor-in-Chief, Audio-Visual Manager, Social Media Manager, Web Manager, and Radio Station Manager regularly to provide cross-platform content.

·  Talk regularly to members of the college administration including Student Affairs, Residence Life, Dining Services, Facilities, Operations, ITS, the Agape Center, SAB, SGA, and other offices pertaining to students and student clubs and organizations, as well as investigate any relationship between current events and student to use this information in stories

·  Work with the Swinging Bridge and Web teams to publish online news content.

·  Manage pulse.messiah.edu daily with news and multimedia content.

·  Follow four to five student media sites closely for alternative ideas and methods to tell stories and utilize them

·  Copyedit stories

·  Serve as resource for writers when needed

·  Help distribute copies of Swinging Bridge publication on distribution day

Organization-wide Expectations

·  Attend Pulse orientation at the end of the summer

·  Recruit actively throughout the year both for volunteer and paid staff, working at promotional fairs and hanging posters for events when necessary

·  Keep work space organized

·  Team up and assist other Pulse platforms

2.  What ideas do you have for using radio, TV, and social media to share your stories?

3.  The News section has the propensity for controversy. Discuss healthy and negative controversy and how you plan to tackle sensitive issues or topics.
