Vuleka School News:

Conquesta Olympiad – Vuleka Foundation Phase has done it again! Every year, children from all over the world participate in the Conquesta Olympiad, writing benchmark tests in English, Mathematics and Life Skills. We are extremely proud to announce that Vuleka has scored a place among the Top 20! Huge congratulations to all the children, staff and parents for your hard work, in achieving these amazing results.
Vuleka Raffle – The annual Vuleka Raffle is underway. Your child has received a raffle sheet. Please help our fundraising initiative by selling raffle tickets at a cost of R2-00 a ticket. As soon as one sheet is completely sold, please send the sheet, as well as the R40-00 to school in a clearly marked envelope. Additional raffle sheets are available, should you wish to sell more tickets.
Valentine’s Day Fundraising – We will be celebrating the day of love on TUESDAY,
14 FEBRUARY. Your child may come to school in civvies (red and white). We will also be showing the kids a movie, having popcorn and juice and doing some art and craft activities. Your child may bring a picnic lunch and picnic blanket to school on that day. The cost of this initiative is R20-00 per child.

Please note that we do not have a secretary/admin assistant at St. Joseph’s. If you call the school and there is no answer, it is because we are in our classes, teaching. If you urgently need to get hold of the school, please contact the Central Office on 011 4776917 and they will relay a message to us to call you back.
Wednesday fundraising – Food is sold on a Wednesday, at a cost of R10-00.
Gentlemen’s Club – Your child is requested to wear a tie/bowtie (any colour, any pattern), to school on a Monday.
Hats/Water – Please ensure that your child has a hat for when he is playing outside. We also encourage you to send a plastic water bottle to school, in order for your child to stay hydrated during the hot weather.
Uniform – Please ensure that ALL clothing items (including shoes and underwear), are clearly marked with your child’s name and surname. We already have a number of clothing items in our lost property. We cannot take responsibility for it if the clothing items are not marked.
Money – Please note that ALL money sent to school must be in a clearly marked envelope.
Homework – Homework needs to be done on a daily basis, with the supervision of an adult. Please ensure to sign your child’s homework book/diary, daily.
