MISSION STATEMENT
Voortrekker High School in Kenilworth strives to holistically develop the learner through…
- The promotion of high ethical, spiritual and normal values in learners so that he /she is able to take his/her place in society in an honourable manner;
- The offering of an academic education of an outstanding quality so that each learner is able to realise his/her full potential;
- Guiding the learners in the development of a positive self-image and a balance life;
- To present the learner with the opportunity to develop his/her own initiative, organisational skills and leadership qualities;
- To make that learner aware of his/her place in society so that he/she is able to cultivate the necessary respect for him/herself, his/her fellow man and his/her community;
- To make the learner aware of changing circumstances so that he/she is able to adapt to these circumstances with necessary responsibility’s;
- To teach the learner that his/her responsibility with respect to community service should be executed to the best of his/her ability;
- To provide the necessary security and discipline for the optimal use of physical resources in order to develop the learner’s full potential.
OPEN DAY
Prospective parents and children are given the opportunity to mingle with pupils and teachers and to experience everything Voortrekker has to offer. The Principal will address all parents and children in the school hall at 18:00. Thereafter you will have the opportunity to go on a tour of the school building and grounds.
APPLICATION PROCESS
This is very important part of the process. Please ensure that you follow the instructions and submit all the necessary attachments to ensure that your child’s application will not be regarded as incomplete.

- Certified copy or child’s birth certificate
- Certified copies of both parents ID documents
- Certified copy of the December Grade 6 report
- Certified copy of proof of residential address
- 1 ID photograph of applicant
- Confidential report in sealed envelope
- CLOSING DATE IS 24 MARCH 2017
NB! Any application received after this deadline will be regarded as late and will only be processed later and might result in your child not securing a space at Voortrekker.
Should any information supplied or documents supplied, found to be false,your application will be regarded as fraudulent and will not be considered.
INTERVIEW PROCESS
All applicants who apply on time and who meet the requirements as set out in our admission policy, will be called for an interview.
All applicants will receive communication from the school to advise if they have been accepted or declined.
ACCEPTANCE OF PLACE BY PARENT
If you are accepted, we need to know that you are accepting the offer of a place at Voortrekker High School and ask that all requested documentation is returned and the registration fee is paid by 31 July 2017. You may of course accept the offer of a place immediately when you receive it. You don’t have to wait until the 31 July. We also need to know if you are not accepting the offer of a place in order to offer the opportunity to another family. If we do not receive any notification either way by the deadline date we will offer the opportunity to another family. (31 July 2017)
