Brighton Oasis Project islooking a trans-inclusive female*volunteer for the Sex Worker’s Outreach Project Sussex (SWOP Sussex) Project Advisory Group.

As a volunteer for this service you will need to either be currently working in the sex industry or have worked in the sex industry. You will be providing an expert opinionon working within the sex industry to a group of professionals working across Sussex to support sex working women. You will be able to offer aninvaluable understanding of the sex work community and the issues that may affect sex working women. You will be able to have a say on how SWOP Sussex can provide emotional support, practical help and signposting advice, using your knowledge to benefit sex working women across Sussex. The main aims of the Project Advisory Group and SWOP Sussex are:

  • To better understand the sex work community and the issues that can affect sex working women;
  • To improve personal safety of sex working women;
  • To offer online and printed advice on sexual health for sex working women;
  • To launch a helpline to address the issues of sex working women;
  • To offer outreach services to women involved in the sex industry

The volunteer would need to be able to commit to the following:

  • Meeting on Wednesday 25th July at 2pm-3:15pm
  • Other meetings quarterly- one hour meeting every 3 months (dates/time to be confirmed depending on availability of members)
