Purpose / summary of the role: / Roll out the red carpet! We need to give a warm welcome, as well as any important information visitors will need to get the most out of their day. Visitor Welcome/Reception volunteers are multi-tasking superstars who can brighten up even the rainiest day! Our Visitor Welcome volunteers play a part in welcoming visitors to Cragside, making their visitor experience excellent by providing an excellent welcome to Cragside. After initial induction and training in the role, the National Trust will give every encouragement and support so that volunteers can acquire the necessary knowledge of the National Trust.
The role includes…
1.  Meeting and greeting our visitors and assisting with welcome information giving to visitors. Promoting other NT sites.
2.  Scanning membership cards
3.  Giving out maps and wayfinding information to visitors
5. Promoting Cragside, the National Trust and our membership benefits.
6. Maintaining good working relationships with property staff and other volunteers.
7. Working in compliance with the Trust’s Health and Safety Policy at all times.
Time commitment: / To suit each individual volunteer, but a regular commitment would be appreciated. An average commitment of twice per month is suggested. A minimum of 2 ½ days a month from March-October.
Skills & qualifications needed: / ·  A good communicator.
·  Likes to be outdoors.
·  An appreciation for the work of the National Trust.
·  This is an on your feet role so an ability to work outside without a seat for up to 2 hours is required.
Training provided: / National Trust induction, membership and visitor experience training.
Reimbursement of expenses: / Mileage allowance to and from the property
Benefits to the volunteer: / ·  Experience of working in customer service/visitor experience.
·  Experience of EPOS systems and cash handling.
·  The feel good factor that comes from volunteering for the National Trust.
