Corporate Newsletter Volunteer
Introduction
Opening Doors London (ODL) is the biggest charity providing information and support services with and for older lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans* (LGBTQ+) people in the UK. Established in 2008 ODL now operates across all of London. We offer support through social groups and activities, special events and befriending services. We operate an extensive volunteer service, and work with strategic partners to promote and support our service. Our mission is to combat and overcome loneliness and isolation in older LGBTQ+ communities in London and beyond.
ODL has a small team of volunteers building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners. We now have support from a cross section of companies in finance, law, media, and public services. Our partners offer support in various areas including fundraising, volunteering, skills and knowledge support, use of meeting space, sponsoring of members activities.
Role Outline:
We are looking for someone skilled in the use of Mailchimp to assist in the production of a quarterly newsletter for our corporate partners
Duties
· Liaise with volunteers working with corporate partners re content
· Format content to an agreed specification
· Ensure ODL policies are followed in all publications
· Assist in dissemination and publicity
Personal qualities most suited to the role
§ Good cultural sensitivity to the histories, needs and complexities of LGBTQ+ communities in the UK
§ Able to work regularly enough to ensure that updates reflect current activity for ODL events and developments
§ Committed to and competent in member, volunteer and organisation confidentiality, and mindful of Information Governance policy
§ Able to operate flexibly
§ Ability to volunteer using own initiative as required
§ Well organised and be able to prioritise tasks
§ Requirement to undertake induction training and follow guidelines and policies of ODL
