About Us

New Hope, Birmingham is registered as a charity with Charity Commission of England and Wales, whose primary goals are to support and empower BAME Groups who are economically disadvantaged within Birmingham and its surrounding areas by providing services such as education, career development, health, equal treatment and prevention of distress, sports and the arts as well as culture and heritage initiatives to tackle local needs.

About the opportunity

An exciting opportunity for a Volunteer Funding Bid Writer has evolved. The role will involve writing funding bids, enabling New Hope Birmingham to start new projects and sustain existing services. This role is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is looking to develop skills in finance, administration and grants applications, whilst helping our charities organisation grow and improve.

This could either be a short-term role in which the volunteer writes one single bid that we then adapt to the person it is sent to or a longer-term role in which the Bid Writer follows up leads and keeps track of funding acquired. This is an office-based role and the hours are flexible to suit you and your commitments. Access to a computer with internet and telephone facilities will be provided.

About New Hope Birmingham

New Hope, Birmingham was established by a group of passionate community members and third sector experts to support those who are disadvantaged in our society by providing comprehensive guidance and training to excel as individuals and families. The projects and initiatives that our organisation strives to implement are based on the primary objective to develop the capacity and skills of members of socially and economically disadvantaged ethnic minority communities in Birmingham. We build and harness links with other charity and community development organisations, academic institutions and businesses, working in collaboration to help people in need.

We believe in grass-roots level social welfare work focused on poverty alleviation through not only career development support for unemployed youth and adults suffering from financial hardship but also by campaigning for healthy living, environmental protection, prevention of distress, advancement of education and sports, and advancement of arts, culture and heritage.
