Time Commitment:A minimum of 2-days up to a maximum of 4 days per week, 6 months minimum term.
Lambeth Voluntary Action Council (LVAC) is currently seeking an intern to work with the LVAC Chief Executive and Senior Management Team to deliver the following:
- Explore traditional (i.e. voluntary and community sector) as well as non-traditional potential markets for LVAC to raise its profile and ultimately sell a variety of chargeable services to.
- Produce high quality service brochures for varied identified target markets.
- Assimilate and create a comprehensive universal data base for the selling of LVAC chargeable services.
- To develop LVAC and VCL’s social media and maintain this on an on-going basis.
LVAC is Lambeth’s Council for Voluntary Service (CVS). Most boroughs in England have a CVS, which provides support to and represents the voluntary and community sector in their borough.
LVAC is an independent charity providing a range of support and representational services to Lambeth’s voluntary and community sector. LVAC was set up in 1994 and is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. We have our own shop front premises between Brixton and Clapham Common (Head Office) and a Volunteer Centre in the heart of Brixton.
LVAC is a member organisation, with membership open to any voluntary or community organisation working for the benefit of Lambeth residents. LVAC has a database of over 1,000 contacts and our membership is continuously growing. The LVAC Board of Directors/ Trustees is made up of our member organisations.
Volunteer Centre Lambeth, also a project of LVAC’s, has a database of over 12,000 individuals interested in volunteering and 350 organisations looking for volunteers and this is increasing every month.
Skills and KnowledgeRequired:
- Educated to degree level, a marketing/communications/information degree would be particularly welcomed
- A high level of writing skills
- Some experience of giving advice
- Good organisational skills
- Good IT skills
- Administrative experience
- Commitment to the aims of LVAC
