In issue four of volume nine of the Journal of Transnational Management Developmentauthors examine international business issues from the perspective of three continents. In the initial article Jonathan U. Elimimianet. al. reviews the viable science and engineering infrastructure of Nigera and its importance in national enterprise development. Then Caroline Yeoh reports on Singapore’s state enterprise strategy and the possible portability of this strategy for the development programs of other economies.

The issue’s third article classifies nations on the basis of corruption, inequality and income using cluster analysis and the author observe that there appears to be a tri-polar nature comprising of Western, Latin and Mixed groupings. Ghosh et. al.provides an overview of the degree of congruence between consumer brand image and retailer corporate image (retail industry) with Asian companies. Given the increasing importance of company recognition and increased competition for this continually increasing market this article provides valuable insights.

In the concluding article by Rock-Antoine Mehanna, “A gulf Monetary Union: How Close are We Really” the author offers an initial historical perspective on the progress of the proposed 2010 Gulf Monetary Union and then evaluates eleven economic characteristics of the prospective members.

The Journal of Transnational Management Development and the IMDA. The Journal of Transactional Management Development is the official journal of the International Management Development Association.
