Heidenheim / Moscow.From 30 August to 2 September, Voith will present its reliable and award-winning solutions for the rail industry at EXPO1520 that will take place at JSC Russian Railway Research Institute in Moscow.

The locomotives that pull these trains are often thought of as conservative. However, the advanced locomotive technologies available today would have been unthinkable just a few decades ago. The L 4r4 zse turbo reversing transmission moves diesel locomotives in shunting and line service. It is suitable for high speeds up to 80 km/h, while the design with speed control system can reach speeds up to 100 km/h. It allows precise speed maintenance – constant speeds of 2 to 5 km/h are possible.

Flexible and efficient.L 530 bre U2 turbo transmission.Thanks to the Voith Turbo Drive Control and CAN bus interface, our transmissions can be adapted easily to changes in engine output or special service conditions. It provides unmatched performance over the entire input range up to 1700 kW.

Designed for maximum performance.Helical gear SE-type with one stage, axle mounted transversal drive.Voith offers single and double-stage helical and bevel gears. They are weight and noise-optimized and allow speeds of over 400 km/h. Gear units from Voith are optimally adapted to individual axle loads, speeds and tractive efforts for all rail vehicles – urban railways and trams, metros, regional railcars, locomotives, high-speed trains and special rail vehicles.

The motor is located in the bogie. The motor's shaft is parallel to the wheelset's shaft. A bow-tooth coupling transmits power to the helical gears of the helical gear stage. This stage compensates for the relative motion between the bogie and the wheelset's shaft.
