Summertime marathon of graphic design and illustration:

Visual Playground is opening its doors for the school’s fifth edition

GRAPHIC DESIGN AND ILLUSTRATION FESTIVAL

In the midst of summer, Visual Playground will be transforming Bucharest into the meeting place of some of the world’s most accomplished graphic designers and illustrators with a series of mind-blowing conferences titled Visual Playground Open Nights.

The conference nights will take place on July 26th, July 31st and August 4th, all three within Expirat Halele Carol in Bucharest, Romania. Here’s the list of yummy talks we have planned for you:

VP OPEN NIGHTS #1: STEVE SIMPSON / MATTIAS ADOLFSSON

The first night of this year’s series brings together amazing illustrators Steve Simpson and Mattias Adolfsson. Steve and Mattias are both accomplished and world-renowned illustrators with very different but equally impressive signature styles. With these two amazing speakers, the first conference is a must-see for any illustration fan.

When: July 26th, 19:30

Venue: Halele Carol, str. Constantin Istrati no. 1, Sector 5, Bucharest

VP OPEN NIGHTS #2: MALIKA FAVRE / TOBIAS HALL / HEDOF

Open Night #2 has three spectacular speakers: Malika Favre, Tobias Hall and Hedof. These creative powerhouses cover a lot of ground, from fashion illustration to lettering and murals. So whether you’re into intricate vintage labels, clean cut fashion spreads or playful geometry painted on large surfaces, our second night will definitely be an interesting mix.

When: July 31st, 19:30

Venue: Halele Carol, str. Constantin Istrati no. 1, Sector 5, Bucharest

VP OPEN NIGHTS #3: DAVID CARSON / YUKAI DU

Great illustration and animation do go hand in hand with great graphic design, so for Open Night #3 we’re so excited to have David Carson and Yukai Du joining us. If experimental typography’s what floats your boat, but you also have a knack for impressive illustration or vice versa, this is definitely the night for you.

When: August 4th, 19:30

Venue: Halele Carol, str. Constantin Istrati no. 1, Sector 5, Bucharest
