Temporary Program Coordinator: Outreach and Recruitment

Summary: This temporary position is directly responsible for outreach and recruiting for the organization’s youth programs including: planning and coordinating outreach activities, implementing and tracking Corpsmember recruitment, and building community partnerships.

Outreach

·  Design and implement outreach plans to establish partnerships and collaborations with other agencies or groups.

·  Establish referral contacts throughout the Denver metro area.

·  Attend Job Fairs, community events and networking events on MHYC’s behalf.

·  Make presentations at schools, referral agencies and to other community groups.

·  Work with the Development & Marketing Department to design & distribute promotional materials.

·  Implement effective social media strategies to reach target market.

·  Support the supervision of the Administrative & Outreach Associate and Alumni Mentor: Outreach.

·  Support the supervision of the Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) GoWild Crew Leader and Outreach Team.

Youth Recruitment

·  Design and implement recruitment plans for each of MHYC’s program and coordinate all outreach activities conducted by staff, volunteers, and Corpsmembers.

·  Establish recruitment/hiring timelines and provide to program staff involved in the hiring process.

·  Ensure clear and consistent communication with the hiring team for each program.

·  Collect data from the hiring team and analyze the recruitment and hiring processes and strategies for effectiveness at the end of each hiring period.

·  Support the hiring process in any way needed.

Administrative Duties

·  Create/Maintain a clear, up to date, accurate and thorough referral/recruitment database.

·  Prepare hiring reports as needed.

·  Oversee Zoho (applicant database) and thoroughly track applicants through the entirety of the hiring process.

·  Other administrative and coordination duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

·  Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (preferred).

·  Proven attention to detail and timeliness in meeting deadlines.

·  Knowledge of Denver Metro Area, local community and youth organizations, educational and training systems, public agencies and private industry.

·  Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.

·  Superior presentation ability and interpersonal skills, including excellent speaking and writing skills.

·  Bi-lingual English/Spanish (preferred).

·  Marketing/outreach experience (preferred).

·  Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Access and Publisher.

·  A clean driving record and use of a personal vehicle with valid insurance is required.

·  Must be able to legally work in the United States, which will be verified via the federal E-Verify program.

·  Pre-employment drug screen required.

·  A criminal background check and a FBI background check, which includes fingerprinting is required. This position has recurring access to vulnerable populations.

Hours & Compensation

·  This is a temporary part-time hourly position (25-30 hours/week). The salary range is $16-18/hour depending on experience. Occasional evenings and weekend hours will be required for outreach and recruitment related functions. The position is available immediately and is expected to continue into mid-November with the possibility for long-term employment.
